WORLD OF GODS ) A COLLECTION OF POEMS (GAZALS & NAZMS ) IN HINDI & URDU LANGUAGE Thematic Concern of the Poems We were born as human beings but gradually became Hindu, Christian, Sikh and Muslim and subsequently further divided into various sects. Now we have reached at such a stage where we have completely forgotten that we were ever humans, are humans and will remain as humans. Not only this, as and when we got divided, we established for ourselves various religions and Gods for each religion, faith, rules and practices were formulated, with the result that those religions, their respective Gods, rituals and traditions became deeply rooted in us. Then, we commenced to fight amongst ourselves and began to kill each other, even we started burning each other alive. Hui faujdari Khudaon ke ghar, Haqeeqat mein jo ho fasane mein hum. Mohabbat nein uski Karen qatl ab, Lagein hain sabaq ye padhaney mein hum. (There was bloodshed in the house of Gods. Whatever be the truth, but on heresay To kill humans for his love Is the lesson we are teaching.) When we think to get ourselves liberated from these fights relating to Gods and religion, we are unable to find any way out because these principles and rules of these religions have enslaved us and we are unable to get out of this, because we believe that these principles and rules are made by God not by men. So how can we break them and even if we dare to do so then people begin to object and we also feel afraid in cracking them for God may become unhappy and we may be cursed. Here it is necessary to understand that if somebody says that this is God and he has made these principles and rules we accept them as true and start following them. There is difference between accepting a thing and knowing it. We have to think whether the accepted beliefs are true or that which is real. The important thing is that every religion has one primal truth, which is called as absolute truth. According to this there as many Gods and truths as there are religions formulated and described by men. Have we ever thought that man has limited individuality and accordingly his thinking and understanding is also limited. Man can neither know nor understand everything. Which clears that one limited can not define or know the unlimited God. Insaan ki aql toh chhoti hai Bhagwan se koi mail nahin, Insaan ki baton ko uska farman samajh kar baithey hain. (2) (Human beings can not match Gods intellect, Yet they take men’s words for his edict.) There is one more question arises on the religions and world of the Gods. Jitne bhi hain mazhab duniya mein utne hi khuda maujood yahan, Asli hai yahan par kaun khuda isko toh batana mushkil hai. (As many Gods exists as there are religions, Which one is real it is difficult to say.) Human race has developed this much faith on religions and Gods that there is no way to come out of this. Daava hai yahi har mazhab ka uska hi khuda bas hai asli, Insaan phansa hai uljhan mein lagta hai chuddhana mushkil hai. (Only its God is real is each religion’s claim, To get people out of this fix seems difficult.) Now a days, the world is in grip of terrorism and religion-linked violence. To overcome this a new vision is needed and we have to live with that. Purani ravayat hatao toh jaanein, Khudaon se daaman chhudao toh jaanein. Banaya hai tumne fatishtey ko shaitan, Isey phir farishta banao toh jaanein. (Reject these old beliefs, I challenge, Release us from clutches of Gods I challenge. You have made an angel Satan, Make him an angel again, I challenge.) Today’s need is this that we must understand we are not Hindu, Muslim or Christian, but human beings and humanity is our religion. Jisko banaya khud usey bhagwan kya kahein, Karney ko hum duaon ki imaan kya kahein. Insaan sirf insaan rahjey ga kahein bhi ho, Hindu isai aur musalman kya kahein. (3) (Why call our own creation God ? Why call our prayers faith ? A human being will only be human, Why call him Hindu, Christian or Muslim ?) Presently human race is doing this in the world : Khudaon se karke dua hum sabhi, Jahan ko batatey hain kafir hain hum. (By offering prayers to different Gods, We show the world our lack of belief.) I'm even more confused by these theories that a god does exist, yes, Sasha as you pointed out religion is very messed up. But why believe that any supernatural being exists? Why a god over unicorns? You seem to still think it is a personal god that really cares about you, why assume this with no evidence?

HI, I am always confused by theorys that God does not exist, wouldnt it be more rational to say God might exist? Unless you have significant guidance the Bible seems to be riddled with contradictions. Well, OK, the problem is not God, its religion. If you seek him, He will seek and enlighten you. Love, Sasha

I was an atheist for 27 years...I believe what the Bible says and I am thankful that I will not be spending eternity suffering in hell. Please consider this...Forever is a LONG time to suffer!!
Reply: Thanks for the kind words :) but if that is the only reason to "believe" it is not a good one, it is also a variation on Pascal's Wager, which is very intellectually flawed. If the Bible were true and this Yaweh existed I would hope he were smart enough to figure out that I only pretended to believe. I also would not care to spend eternity with the evil tyrant described in the Bible.

I looked at the websites you listed and found them to be at best entertaining is a sick deluded way. At worst out and out falsehoods. I do have an open mind but when you are looking at thing with a certain amount of skepticism these are really idiotic! It's comical that even the one about discovering Noah's Ark was meant to be serious. And the "Cave" with the actual blood of "Jesus", think about it, would that not be on the news. It's reported to be on CNN, the History Channel...I don't recall ever seeing anything definite about any of this crap!

I seriously think you all should look at the videos at endtime.com for bible prophecy. I am telling the truth. You must not be decieved by satan and think that there is no reason to make your relationship with God sure. You must watch the videos with an open mind, as well as the ones on arkdiscovery.com. These will make you believe, all major events are determined by prophecy and that is a sure way to make unbelievers believe. I am telling you for your own good, you must not harden your heart. CHECK THEM OUT!!!!!

Dear dave,
Thank you for your input. I visited drdino.com and I must say, the people who put that site together either have a remarkably sharp since of humor, or they have thoroughly surrendered their capacity of critical thought. When I read about “Dinosaur Adventure Land” I laughed so hard my stomach hurt. I see that Kent Hovind has some association with drdino.com. Perhaps when Mr. Hovind is released from prison he would be interested in speaking to AFHR at a future forum.
When I visited the other site, endtime.com, it became quite clear that the primary factor motivating people of “faith” is really just the fear of death. Look, nobody wants to die. Most of us would like to live forever with the people we care about most. But believing something doesn’t make it real. At some point we all have an obligation to get up off our knees and begin conducting ourselves like responsible intelligent adults. That means abandoning stories with talking snakes, virgin births, genocidal gods, angles, unicorns and all the other childish nonsense.
I would suggest you think long and hard about weather or not you truly believe it’s wise to construct a modern civilization around ancient stories written by people who practiced human and animal sacrifice, slavery and polygamy. These people treated women like cattle, they lived like animals and they thought the earth was flat. Are these the people you turn to for guidance on morality?

I openly declare that I am the founder of The First Universal Church of Humanity. I am glad to know that there are many groups and individuals that reject the insanity of deity worship, but I wish to raise a point of concern. By identifying yourself as an athiest, you are placing the emphasis on thiesm as if it were the accepted standard of rational thought. Theism is a primitive behavior sustained only through structured, exclusive social clubs with political and economic power. I present myself as a rationalist and often ask, "Why? Are your a-rational?" Despite the problems, abuse and anti-Human philosophy of deity worship, some of the methods for promoting a philosophy through generations are very effective social tools and should be exploited by rationalists. Remember, the difference between a religion and a cult is that a cult has no political power. Also remember, true political power lies in the hands of only 5 senate seats. Let us call it like it is - We are Humans, yet the deity worshipers insist on criminalizing more and more Human behavior - that is not rational. Be Human, be rational and save your hate and rage for defensive applications only.
Reply: We do identify ourselves as atheists, but only because of the harm that the irrational people of "faith" are causing. Should these people stop trying to impose their beliefs on everyone else we would cease to be organized in any way most likely. There would be no need for atheist organizations if they (the people of "faith") would just worship whatever god/gods they so choose and keep it out of our lives. We do not believe in unicorns but are not organized concerning them because anyone that believes in them is not generally causing harm.

Dear Sir or Madam,
Hello, my name is Kevin and I am a freethinker like many of you. I am also the husband of the most amazing woman I have ever met and father of two beautiful children. First, let me thank you for taking the time to hear my thoughts on a subject that is important to me – the education of our children. A brief history of my life may be in order for you all to understand where I am coming from. My father was an evangelical preacher with a Christian sect known as the Assemblies of God. From a very young age, I accepted Christ as my personal savior, went to revival prayer meetings, led school Bible clubs, and even spoke in tongues (glossolia). My wife was also raised in an Assemblies of God family with her father serving as a missionary to Cameroon, Africa. We led similar lives so when we met in Bible College we were sure it was “God’s will” for us to start a live together. In December of 1999, we were married. We moved to Georgia in 2001, I continued work at the University of West Georgia on my Education Degree. This was the first experience I had ever had in reading texts outside of a religious setting. I truly enjoyed reading the works of Thomas Paine and Bertrand Russell and others. I just couldn’t understand how when it came to the most crucial decision of their lives (i.e. Christ) they got it wrong. Well, I was bound and determined to figure this conundrum out. I began reading every non-theist text I could find in order to refute these men’s claims. My collection started small but before I realized it I had more freethought books than religious ones. If the reader would allow, I would like to take a moment to thank five authors of books that truly inspired both my wife and I to take the leap from faith to freethought: Richard Dawkins (The Blind Watchmaker and The Selfish Gene), Dan Barker (Losing Faith in Faith), George Smith (Atheism), Michael Martin (The Case Against Christianity), and Charles Templeton (Farewell to God). Again, thank you to these and so many others for having the courage and integrity to stand up for the truth.
Now, the reason for my letter- as a public school educator I see on a daily basis how religion has infiltrated our public schools at every level. From the Pledge of Allegiance to teachers openly praying for students, the public school system in my opinion has become the largest “mission field” for Christians. To be frank, I’m sick of the hypocrisy of our teachers, our politicians, and our government talking about Jefferson’s separation of church and state as a good thing and then holding prayer services around school flags. On a daily basis, I hear about teachers in every subject area putting a religious spin on instruction. We must remember that a Christians #1 job is to “win souls for the kingdom.”
My wife and I recently purchased the book, Parenting Beyond Belief (and met the author at a freethought meeting in ATL, GA), which has many excellent authors and articles that we enjoyed. However, after reading the book I looked at my wife and told her that I believe many of these authors would have loved to have gone and/or sent their own children to an educational experience that was free of religious bias. To be honest, the idea of sending my children to an elementary school in Bible belt Georgia scares me. I believe it would be an injustice to allow our children to attend a school where they will be indoctrinated at a young age. Students at this age are so receptive to any and all authority figures and their opinions. I realize that my son and daughter will get their moral, ethical, educational, emotional, and freethought training at home but for seven hours out the day my children will be around these individuals that will pray for a scraped knee or read a biblical myth as fact. I felt compelled to share my idea for a school based on sound educational principles but also on reason and critical thinking skills -- a Freethought Academy. I know there is a negative voice from some freethinkers to private schools/vouchers – mainly due to the opinion that it is segregation. However, this argument is not realistic. We are all segregated in one-way or another. For example look at your own friends and the neighborhood you live in. Is there diversity like there is in public schools? Nine out of ten of you (if answering honestly) would probably answer with a resounding NO! We migrate towards people of the same likes and dislikes as ourselves. We would not allow our children attend church yet at times our public schools are not much different (just desks instead of pews). You and I are segregated from the elements of society that we believe to be harmful. With the violence and religious bias in public school I know it is a place I want my young children segregated from. . Students do much better in Private schools as opposed to Public schools this is a FACT! This is the case with everyone I have ever talked to that has sent his or her children to private school. It was also the case in my own life. The problem is that the vast majority of private schools are religious based schools. This is the true reason I believe non-believers are opposed to vouchers and private schools. I believe if we established the Academy our students test scores would exceed both public and other private schools. Believers and skeptics alike would have to “check us out” to see the reason we are so successful. Which in turn would open up the door to many families exploring freethought. Research shows that a persons early years (1-8 years of age) are the most crucial for their development. Personally, I would feel much more comfortable knowing my child was getting a solid education with absolutely no interference from religion. The Academy would be an elementary/middle school of sorts in that we would focus on students at a young age who could in later years go out to the public arena and make a difference. I am not opposed to high school ages for the academy but the beginning years are the most important. I came across a 2001 article, http://www.secularhumanism.org/library/aah/inniss_10_4.htm talking about how there are few if any freethinking leaders in the public arena. The Freethought Academy would produce such individuals; freethought leaders to change Ron Reagan Jr.’s tragic statement that an atheist could never run for political office.
Ideas for Curriculum:
1.Mathematics 2.Grammar 3.Literature 4.History 5.Science (with an evolutionary stance) 6.Writing 7.Debate 8.Research class 9.Computer sciences 10.Art 11.Music 12.Physical Education 13.Philosophy 14.World Affairs 15.Economic Freedom 16.Skeptics 101 / Jr. Skeptic Class (looking at everything from Angels to Zeus) 17.Guest Speakers in an assembly format once a month 18.Field Trips into Nature
These are simply ideas that I believe would help our students become more educated about the world they live in while maintaining the educational integrity that states require. Imagine the possibilities of having young people that unlike many of us were never force fed any religious dogma or myths but have a solid 8-12 years of solid freethought education. My wife and I would be happy to operate the school with additional faculty. I am currently working on a graduate degree in School Administration. The location of the Academy would be crucially important (Atlanta would be ideal for my present location) and my wife and I would be willing to do everything we can for this most amazing of opportunities. Funding would also be a key to allowing us to start the Academy. Since the Academy would be a private institution we would need private funding and off course could supplement cost with tuitions. If you feel as strongly about the Academy as I do, I could use your help in finding donators to our cause. Also if you are an educator and would be interested in teaching in such an environment please contact me. This letter is currently being sent to everyone I can think of in the freethought community, but please forward it to anyone you think might be interested.
Thank you again for your time. Please respond with your thought (positive or negative) on the subject. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Kevin Educator believer2atheist@yahoo.com
